Fractal is a term used in mathematics, to describe geometric shapes containing detailed structure at arbitrarily small scales, usually having a fractal dimension strictly exceeding the topological dimension. A fractal is a pattern that the laws of nature repeat at different scales. Many fractals possess the property of self-similarity, at least approximately, if not exactly. A self-similar object is one whose component parts resemble the whole. This fractal phenomenon can often be detected in such structures of a snowflake, tree barks and nerves.  Fractals are ways of seeing infinity. I find the idea of patterns forming autonomously quite intriguing. Infinite possibilities that seem random and unpredictable may arise from a chain of coincidences.  If one observers closely one can find order in disorder. Patterns similar to algorithms if observed can reveal concealed edifices. Finding order in chaos is the essence of Chaos theory. Like motion of groups and cluster of stars may seems random and unpredictable but there is a certain order to it. There are many examples of these self -organizing systems in nature and also in our socio-political system. Every entity has its own idiosyncrasy as it goes through its own experiences in life and beyond from which it has evolved or regressed. Many phases it has been through.  It has embarked on the journey of life that culminates into the content. The forms, space, layers are like a roadmap of the voyage.

The approach of successive layering and removal of pigment permits the surface to achieve transparency, translucency and opacity. The forms are held together, within mutual associations of attraction and repulsion, of contraction and expansion, thus there is continuous flow of energy involving a person to contemplate. The characteristic of line is to measure, of tonal value is to measure. Colour can neither be measured nor weighed it can be defined by its quality. Each colour has its own uniqueness. Perception of colour depends on vision, light and individual interpretation.

Indigo color lies in-between violet and blue in the spectrum. It has lowest wavelength highest frequency hence higher energy. There is this debate whether to include indigo in the spectrum or not. Indigo dye has an enigmatic history behind it all over the world. Indigo has an intense, mysterious individual character. With each of the values, it throws different word of meanings. It’s like an invitation to imagine what might be.

How to properly care for your artwork

1. Watercolors are vulnerable to damage. It is best to frame them under glass as the protective panel to keep your art away from dust, moisture, and infestation.

2. Use glazed UV-coated Plexiglass when framing your watercolor.

3. When exposed to moisture, watercolors may shift, run, or break.

4. Do not hang opposite a surface where it is exposed to full sunlight or extreme humidity as exposure to ultraviolet rays will damage paper.

5. Keep your artwork away from fluorescent light.

6. No dramatic changes in the environment.

7. To avoid damage, keep paining in regulated temperatures and humidity levels.
